My mother-in-law lost her husband unexpectedly in November 2016. My husband and I, along with my brother-in-law and his wife and family, live in California and did not know what to do. Life became a mess; bills weren’t getting paid, essential medications weren’t being taken, her health was declining as she suffers from MS and her husband had been her primary caregiver. Over an incredibly difficult period following our loss, we would fly back to Virginia when we could, but knew it was not a long-term plan. We needed someone local, who Terri and the family could trust, to really dig in and help. We were connected to Valerie and she stepped in with gusto; Valerie’s extensive experience and professional “get-it-done” attitude was exactly what we needed. She cleaned up the mess and set things up to run very smoothly. We had to put my MIL into an assisted living facility but she had to move twice to get into the best one. Valerie led the charge and got it done! She even staged my MIL’s furniture and personal treasures in her new apartment so that my MIL would feel perfectly at home. This type of help has been priceless to our family and we now have complete trust that everything is getting done in my MIL’s best interest. Valerie has earned the trust and respect of the entire family. We consider her part of the family and we are eternally grateful to her for all she has done for us. Something this personal and close to home is extremely important and we thank our stars often for Valerie.  Daughter-in-Law – 10/2017

Valerie, Thank you for all you did (and are still doing) for B and R.  When I met you I was comforted to see that their affairs were in competent and caring hands.  Thank you also for working with R after B’s death, helping her to prepare for the inevitable, and to remember her family.  It it obvious that to you, your job is more than just managing someone’s affairs.  It is also a way to help those in need at very difficult times in their lives.  B & R were lucky to have you, Sincerely, CR 6/2016

The work Valerie has done with my mom in the last year has been fabulous! My brother and I knew mom needed regular help that we could not provide since we both live far away. She discovered that mom was being tricked into sending out caches of money and her quick work enabled my mother to recover an appreciable percentage of that money. Since then, she has helped mom to cut down on sweepstakes and fraudulent activity, but also sort through bills and stabilize her charitable donations.

Valerie’s communication with us has been excellent. I appreciate how well she has worked with my brother to consolidate mom’s investment portfolio. She has been flexible in working in person, on the phone, by email and by text as needed.

My mother trusts Valerie. My brother and I have greater peace of mind knowing Valerie is there. She also provides a window to make us aware when little things need some attention.  Daughter, Greenspring Resident, Springfield, VA 11/2015

Valerie started working with me last year when I was still quite independent. She has gradually taken on more responsibility, including POA on my bank account, as my health has declined. She recommended a CPA that cut my tax preparation costs in half. She pays various medical bills and keeps after my Long Term Care provider to make appropriate payments. She works closely with my CFP.  She also worked with my attorney when we needed to update legal documents. I have come to depend on those weekly visits. Valerie instills trust in people due to her knowledge and respect for her clients.   Resident, Greenspring, Springfield, VA  11/2014
